Bungendore is located on the Kings Highway and is popular with visitors from Queanbeyan and Canberra. DFP was engaged to prepare designs and subsequent development applications for approximately 400 lots as an extension to the existing village. The designs took account of a number of constraints, including the presence of protected grasslands and flooding. with a major consideration being the integration of the new estate with the existing village and preservation of the traditional “grid” street pattern. Elmslea has been extremely well received by the market.
DFP worked with Council and other consultants to ensure that the development would be flood free and would not affect flooding in the existing village. With our client, we developed concepts for a high standard of landscaping, particularly along Turallo Creek, which separates the estate from the existing village.
We are presently working with our client to request Council to consider rezoning additional land for a further extension to the estate.
